Bees Wax Wraps

Bees Wax Wraps

How to make a bees wax wrap from one of our bees wax blend bars:

Makes 4 or 5 : 30cm x 30cm wraps

  • Wash and dry your fabric (a thinner, fine weave cotton is best as it's easier to fold and wrap but any cotton is ok. Bear in mind that the wax will leave your fabric slightly yellow so best not to choose a colour fabric that will clash.)
  • Cut your fabric with pinking shears into your desired shape
  • Stir and melt your wax bar into a bain marie or an old saucepan
  • Preheat the oven to 300°
  • Place your fabric onto grease proof paper on a metal tray
  • When the mixture is melted brush/dab it lightly onto one side of the fabric Don’t over saturate the fabric; remember you can always add but can’t take off!
  • Place in the oven on tray for 40 sec or until fabric looks wet. If there are dry spots then re coat
  • Hang your wraps up to dry - drying takes only 2 mins
